Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Manager, Recreation. the incumbent ensures the safe, efficient, customer focused operation and maintenance of all the Indoor recreation facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Leads the operation, maintenance and repairs of indoor recreation facilities, and janitorial services, delivered in-house or by contractors. Serves as the liaison with leaseholders and vendors.
2. Recruits, directs, schedules, trains and appraises the performance of reporting staff. Is authorized to Issue written reprimands and contribute to higher levels of discipline in accordance with the progressive discipline directive.
3. Reviews. investigates, and responds to public complaints, incident reports, and facility safety and security concerns.
4. Analyzes operational data, reviews designs, compiles Information, maintains statistics, prepares and presents reports, supports decision-making and promotion of the facilities.
5. Responds promptly to service requests and user feedback. Communicates outages, maintenance impacts and restoration timelines.
6. Prepares and monitors (controls), under the direction of the Manager. Recreation, the Operations annual operating and capital, budgets.
7. Prepares and evaluates tenders, quotations. proposal calls and reports and awards or recommend awards in accordance with the City's Purchasing Policy.
8. Plans and executes seasonal changeovers with detailed work plans, risk assessments, and stakeholder communication.
9. Ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that reporting staff follow established safety procedures and standards.
10. Acts as Manager, Recreation, as assigned.
11. Other related duties.
