Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Manager, the incumbent assists in coordinating and facilitating projects and programs and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements for the department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Coordinates, facilitates, researches, plans, develops, schedules, delivers, monitors, reports and inspects progress including evaluating performance of consultants and contractors for assigned projects and programs.
2. Reviews and assists in preparing project estimates, designs, detailed drawings, specifications.
3. Provides research and technical support relating to the departmental systems and processes including programming, ensuring integrity of data, testing, evaluating and making recommendations to ensure efficient operations and regulatory compliance.
4. Compiles statistics, analyzes data, undertakes studies, researches, prepares and presents reports.
5. Prepares and monitors (controls), under direction of the Manager, the annual operating and capital budgets for assigned projects and programs.
6. Reviews and provides input into strategic planning, manuals, servicing standards and operations in compliance with policies and agreements.
7. Prepares and evaluates tenders, quotations, proposal calls and reports and awards or recommends award in accordance with the City's Purchasing Policy.
8. Follows, and ensures that reporting staff follow, so far as is reasonably practicable, established safety procedures and standards.
9. Act as Manager, Fleet and Transportation Maintenance and other department supervisory positions as assigned.
10. Other related duties.
